Adab al-Ziyarah refers to the spiritual etiquettes and recommended practices before, during, and after visiting the shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.). These are derived from the narrations of the Imams (A.S.) themselves and are essential for a spiritually complete and accepted pilgrimage.

Performing a full ritual bath (Ghusl) before visiting the shrine. This is a highly recommended (Mustahabb) act that purifies the body and soul before approaching the holy precincts. The method is the same as Ghusl Janabah — washing the head, then the right side, then the left side of the body. Source: Kamil al-Ziyarat, Chapter on Adab al-Ziyarah
