Imam Husayn (A.S.) dispatched his cousin Muslim ibn Aqeel (A.S.) to verify the Kufans' claims. Muslim departed Mecca; his guides tragically perished from thirst in the desert—a grim foreshadowing of events to come.
امام حسینؑ نے اپنے چچا زاد مسلم بن عقیلؑ کو کوفہ بھیجا تاکہ دعووں کی تصدیق کریں۔ مسلمؑ مکہ سے روانہ ہوئے؛ ان کے رہنما صحرا میں پیاس سے ہلاک ہوئے—آئندہ واقعات کی سخت تنبیہ۔
Muslim stayed at al-Mukhtar al-Thaqafi's house. Within days, over 18,000 Kufans pledged allegiance to Imam Husayn (A.S.) through him. He wrote urging the Imam to hasten to Kufa.
مسلمؑ مختار ثقفیؑ کے گھر ٹھہرے۔ چند دنوں میں 18,000 سے زیادہ کوفیوں نے امام حسینؑ کی طرف سے بیعت کی۔ انہوں نے امامؑ کو کوفہ آنے کی تاکید کی۔
Yazid replaced Nu'man bin Bashir with Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad. Through threats, bribery, and psychological warfare, Ibn Ziyad broke the pledges. Muslim fought valiantly but was captured on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah 60 AH and martyred with Hani ibn Urwah on the roof of the governor's palace.
یزید نے نعمان بن بشیر کو عبیداللہ ابن زیاد سے بدل دیا۔ دھمکی، رشوت اور نفسیاتی جنگ سے ابن زیاد نے عہد توڑ دیے۔ مسلمؑ بہادری سے لڑے مگر 9 ذوالحجہ 60 ہجری کو پکڑے گئے اور حنی بن عروہؑ کے ساتھ شہید ہوئے۔
