On the eve of 10 Muharram, Imam Husayn (A.S.) praised Allah and told his companions: "I permit all of you to go away freely… For these people desire me only." He extinguished the candles so anyone could leave unseen.
10 محرم کی شب امام حسینؑ نے فرمایا: "میں تم سب کو آزاد کرتا ہوں… یہ لوگ صرف مجھے چاہتے ہیں۔" انہوں نے چراغ بجھا دیے تاکہ کوئی بغیر دیکھے جا سکے۔
When the candles were relit, not one person had left. Abbas (A.S.) declared they would never live after the Imam. Muslim ibn Ausaja swore to fight until his sword broke. Zuhayr ibn Qayn vowed to be killed a thousand times for the Imam's sake.
چراغ جلنے پر کوئی نہیں گیا۔ عباسؑ نے کہا کہ امامؑ کے بعد زندہ نہیں رہیں گے۔ مسلم بن عوسجہ نے تلوار ٹوٹنے تک لڑنے کی قسم کھائی۔ زہیر بن قین نے ہزار بار مارے جانے کی قسم کھائی۔
The camp buzzed with worship like "bees"—ritual bathing, prayer, Quran recitation, and supplication as companions and family prepared their souls for the sacrifice at dawn.
خیمے عبادت سے گونج اٹھے جیسے "شہد کی مکھیاں"—غسل، نماز، قرآن اور دعا، اصحاب اور اہلِ بیتؑ نے صبح کی قربانی کے لیے روح کی تیاری کی۔
